Review: Inferno

Inferno by Dan Brown
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Disappointment..........Thats all i can say........Of late i have been reading works of Dan Brown ("The Da Vinci Code" and "Angles & Demons".......And that led me into reading Inferno and all the hype created in the web......After all its Dan Brown........Lets get to the crux immediately point-wise:
1. The start was bang on and really intrigues the reader to have more of it.
2. After going through a fair distance (thats 15 chapters max) you start to realise that man, "this is a page turner".
3. But as you move ahead it seems as if a tour guide is narrating the story. This is where, disappointment tends to creep in.
4. It seemed as if Mr. Brown has become the official Brand Ambassador of Florence Tourism and is compelled to provide a detailed account of each and every building.
5. Frankly speaking i had to abandon this book. I didnt want to waste time further........Its about 650 pages thick and i left at 200th (40th chapter to be precise) page.
I am a big fan of Dan Brown.....But "Inferno", sadly hasn't been able to weave the same magic that some of his earlier books have casted on us...........
.......................
Well here i am once again writing the review...........
The feeling of abandoning a book is really painful.....And so i had resumed once again.....
It took me almost 10 more days trudging along chapter by chapter until i reached chapter 80.
And this exactly is the start of a thrill that i had always pined for...........
Chapter 80th to 104th is full of twists and excitement...........
Finally the book ended on a good note...........
In this whole process i have gone through several other books.............
Well reading two or three books simultaneously can also be a good option............
